  • Who has success, and what does it take to have it?
  • The formula is hidden in plain sight in the verse above.
  • Success and prosperity should be part and parcel of a Christian.
  • There is no glory to God when you struggle with fees, rent, food, basic needs, and comforts.
  • What’s NOT success?
    1. How you look, and your outlook.
    2. What you have.
    3. Who you know.
  • Success is determined by who you are.

To be SUCCESSful, consider the nuggets below:

  1. Sense of direction and purpose.
    Romans 15:20 NIV[20] It has always been my ambition to preach the gospel where Christ was not known, so that I would not be building on someone else’s foundation. https://bible.com/bible/111/rom.15.20.NIV.
    To be successful, you must have a purpose. Blind Bartimaeus knew exactly what he wanted when he was asked by Jesus what he wanted. The same applied to Solomon – he knew exactly what to ask God for. Do you know what you want? In which direction are you going?
  2. Understand contentment.
    Godliness with contentment is a great gain.
    Philippians 4:12 NIV[12] I know what it is to be in need, and I know what it is to have plenty. I have learned the secret of being content in any and every situation, whether well fed or hungry, whether living in plenty or in want. https://bible.com/bible/111/php.4.12.NIV.
    It means being happy with what’s now, but having a plan for the future.
    1 Timothy 6:6 NIV[6] But godliness with contentment is great gain. https://bible.com/bible/111/1ti.6.6.NIV.
  3. Commitment.
    It is extremely rare in this day and age.
    Acts 20:24 NIV. [24] However, I consider my life worth nothing to me; my only aim is to finish the race and complete the task the Lord Jesus has given me—the task of testifying to the good news of God’s grace. https://bible.com/bible/111/act.20.24.NIV.
    Paul was an example of a committed man. Abraham Lincoln, too, lost so many times before becoming the President of the United States of America. He was commited to success regardless of the number of losses.
  4. Compassion.
    Basically, love. You’ll not go anywhere without love, definitely not far without being a compassionate person.
    1 Corinthians 13:2 NIV[2] If I have the gift of prophecy and can fathom all mysteries and all knowledge, and if I have a faith that can move mountains, but do not have love, I am nothing. https://bible.com/bible/111/1co.13.2.NIV.
    You can’t hate and be successful. Penda watu (love people). Don’t love money and use people; love people and use money.
  5. Enthusiasm.
    Nothing moves in the world until you’re enthusiastic about something. Do business and ministry with all your heart, mind, and soul. Be enthused about all you do.
  6. Staying Power.
    This is very simple – don’t give up! Persist. Insist. Press in. Stay!

In implementing the above 6 points in your life as a change of perspective and attitude, you will be squarely in the path of success, and you will reap “good success“.
