- Dominion is God’s original plan and intention for mankind.
- Dominion isn’t about oppression or control, but reflecting God’s character and purpose in all areas of your life.
- Don’t pray for victory, for you were born again into glory. John 17:22 NIV[22] I have given them the glory that you gave me, that they may be one as we are one— https://bible.com/bible/111/jhn.17.22.NIV.
- Dominion is God’s idea. Verse 26. Also, Psalms 8:6 NIV[6] You made them rulers over the works of your hands; you put everything under their feet: https://bible.com/bible/111/psa.8.6.NIV. Psalms 82:6 NKJV[6] I said, “You are gods, And all of you are children of the Most High.[6] “I said, ‘You are “gods”; you are all sons of the Most High.’ https://bible.com/bible/114/psa.82.6.NKJV.
- An image reflects its source; therefore, we, created in God’s image, reflect God’s nature, wisdom, character, and government. It’s part of God’s design.
- Adam had dominion, and whatever he decided the animals were, Joseph did the same in a country that wasn’t his; David dominated wherever he went [2 Samuel 8:6 NIV[6] He put garrisons in the Aramean kingdom of Damascus, and the Arameans became subject to him and brought tribute. The Lord gave David victory wherever he went. https://bible.com/bible/111/2sa.8.6.NIV], Solomon had dominion through wisdom, a key to lasting dominion, Daniel had dominion in governance, Esther had dominion through influence and favor, Nehemiah showed dominion through leadership, Deborah had dominion even over kings and was a woman, Jesus had all authority in all the earth having been given it by God, and gave us the same power and dominion.
- The application of wisdom will give you dominion, knowing what to say, how to say it, and when to say it.
- Excellence distinguishes you and gives you dominion.
- Dominion involves vision, organization, and perseverance.
- Dominion requires identity. Romans 8:14 NIV[14] For those who are led by the Spirit of God are the children of God. https://bible.com/bible/111/rom.8.14.NIV. Galatians 4:7 NIV[7] So you are no longer a slave, but God’s child; and since you are his child, God has made you also an heir. https://bible.com/bible/111/gal.4.7.NIV.
- You can’t exercise dominion if you don’t know who you are. Even Jesus had to be recognized as the Son of God in whom God is pleased before He started His work of dominion over sicknesses and demons. He is the Son of God; who are you? Whose are you?
- Satan knows that if he can make you forget who you are, he can weaken you.
- Identity precedes assignment, determines authority.
- You are not a slave but a son.
- Dominion requires responsibility. Adam was to dress the garden and to keep it. You can’t have dominion without responsibility. Luke 16:10 NIV[10] “Whoever can be trusted with very little can also be trusted with much, and whoever is dishonest with very little will also be dishonest with much. https://bible.com/bible/111/luk.16.10.NIV.
- Dominion grows through obedience and diligence.
- Dominion is restored through Christ. Romans 5:17 NIV[17] For if, by the trespass of the one man, death reigned through that one man, how much more will those who receive God’s abundant provision of grace and of the gift of righteousness reign in life through the one man, Jesus Christ! https://bible.com/bible/111/rom.5.17.NIV.
- Jesus restored what Adam lost – righteousness in the place of sin, authority in hopelessness, position (royalty), and authority.
